The Anoka Aeromedical Clinic specializes in Aviation Medicine. As a FAA designated
Senior Aviation Medical Examiner who as worked with the FAA since 1979, we can help you renew and keep
your medical certificate, or obtain a Special Issuance Medical Certificate if you have lost your
medical certificate for health reasons. We are able to issue all classes including: 1st, 2nd, &
3rd Class medical certificates. We love to see the student pilot, as well as the old stick and
rudder drivers!
Our founder, Dr. William A. Schmidt started the Anoka Aeromedical Clinic, located on the field of the
Anoka County Airport (KANE), to allow you to drive to, or fly your aircraft right up to our front door!
Our 12,000 square foot ramp will accommodate any size aircraft. Dr. Schmidt started flying in high
school in 1964, and is a current commercial, multi-engine, rotorcraft, instrument, single engine land
& seaplane pilot.
We are able to help many pilots with serious medical conditions obtain a Special Issuance Medical
Certificate, to allow them to continue flying. Some of the more common problems we have seen, and were
able to help pilots obtain their medical certificate include: Heart attacks, heart bypass surgery,
pacemaker implantation, alcohol abuse, organ (kidney, lung, liver) transplants, monocular vision,
diabetes (non-insulin & insulin dependent), aortic aneurysm, heart arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation
& palpitation), cardiac ablation, high blood pressure, cancer, carotid artery disease, heart valve
repair & replacement, hepatitis, kidney stones, Parkinson's disease, Addison's disease, tranquilizer
use and migraines.
We are an FAA approved HIMS sponsor to assist you with a rapid return to flying should you have an
alcohol and drugs involved problem.
So just because you have a medical condition that disqualifies you from flying, don't give up, come and
see us, we can keep you flying. We have the aviation medical experience to help you!
Ask ground control on 121.85 for a progressive direct to our hanger! KANE has a GPS, VOR-DME, ILS &
VOR approaches to a 4855 foot 18/36 & a 5000 foot 9/27 runway. We are 16 nautical miles north of
Minneapolis international airport.
